Below is a little more information about Scanner Resolution and File Format:
Scanner resolution is measured in pixels per inch (ppi) or dpi (dots per inch) the more pixels or dots, the sharper the image. Where dpi is used to describe print quality, ppi refers to the digital image itself.
File format refers to the way that scans are saved to the computer. Examples include JPEGs and TIFFs. You can identify a file's format by the extension after the dot at the end of the filename (such as .jpg, .jpeg, .gif or .tif).
If you would like to see your photo turned into a painting, visit the Fine Art page on this site to see a sample in Man & Machine.
Copyrighted Photos or Documents: Photos taken professionally (such as senior photos taken by a photographer) must be accompanied by a written statement from photographer allowing the photo restoration.
Thank you for taking the time to visit.
I look forward to working with you.
